Video lectures

by

Finn Haugen

Welcome to my collection of video lectures in the area of automatic control and adjacent areas. The videos are based on recordings of activities on my computer screen together with vocal explanations. You can use these video for free and for any purpose - except for commercial purposes, as courses with fee. (If you want to apply the videos for commercial purposes, you must contact me first.)

Most videos are based on simulators that I run while providing explanations. The simulators are available from the home pages of the video lectures. Although you can just sit back and watch the videos, you will definitely learn more by running the simulators simultaneously.

The simulators are developed in LabVIEW. You can run these simulators if you have either

  • the LabVIEW 9.0 (or later version) development tool installed, or

  • the LabVIEW 9.0 Run-time Engine installed. You can download and install the LabVIEW Run-time Engine from http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/lang/en/id/1600. The file name is LVRTE901std.exe (164 MB). (There are various versions of the Run-time Engine. The linked version is selected according to the version of the LabVIEW development system used to generate the simulators.) During the installation you are prompted to select which parts to install. It is sufficient to select only the LabVIEW Runtime Engine in the list.

When listening to the videos in a classroom etc, please use these:

The videos are produced with Camtasia Studio.
